HALO Group is our new network of young professionals dedicated to raising awareness and funding for the Clayton Dabney Foundation.
In late 2011, four friends – Michael Dabney, Katie Braden, Holt Martin and Jake Young – grown children of CDF board members and supporters, got together to pitch ideas on how they could form a next-generation movement for CDF. Poof! Halo Group was born. The four recruited several friends to create a mission and set goals for Halo Group for Kids with Cancer.
In 2012, Halo Group held its first two fundraising events, a pre-St. Patrick’s Day Bash held the Friday night before the Greenville Avenue Parade at Stan’s Blue Note and a Halo-Ween costume party at the Granada Theater. Both events were wildly successful, bringing awareness of Clayton Dabney for Kids with Cancer to more than 1,000 young professionals and raising more than $10,000 for the cause.
Since then, Halo Group has continued to host the pre-St. Patrick’s Day Bash and Halo-Ween annually. They have also added a Par-Three Golf Tournament and a Parents’ Night Out for the community to raise money for CDF. Halo Group recently created a membership structure in order to reach and involve other young professionals in our community to create awareness of CDF’s mission.
